2000-2009

2009- A Tribute to Stu

2008- Fake Salad, Gary Henry

An impromptu re-dedication ceremony for the Foster Field House was planned on the news of a cancelled Sparetime Social. Lodge '05 (first year counselors) played Lodge '09 in a basketball game. At halftime, as more speeches were being given, Stu Foster's wife came to speak, and reflected that one of Stu's favorite things to do was break color war. At this line, she blew a whistle, signaling the advisers to jump up and break color war.

One night at dinner, Tommy Greenwood was presenting the Takajo Tennis Tourney banner won the year before. The camp was giving a rip-rah-ray for Gary, who was nowhere to be seen. Until he jumped up through a fake salad bar table with half a basketball painted orange and black on his head.

2007- Geoff Ash, Behind the Window

The Tone Rangers were singing an original song during Coffeehouse, which was being performed in the dining hall, to the tune of "Under the Boardwalk," called "Behind the Window."  Each time the line  was repeated, Geoff would lift the slide window and sing his part from the kitchen, wearing K-Crew gear.  For the last chorus, Ash threw the window up, jumped over the counter covered in orange and black paint while the advisors came rushing out.

2006- Tom Hofmann, Flag Raise

2005- Eric Nathan, Rafters Hiatus

It was the Lodge’s turn to raise the flag and they were a little surprised when Tom handed them the Orange and Black Andro 100 Year Anniversary flag instead. They and the rest of the campers became more confused when the music played over the loudspeaker wasn’t the normal bugle call – until the advisors ran out.

Eric, who hadn’t been up for a visit for several years, came in to camp unseen and hid in the rafters above the scoreboard. Halfway through dinner, he emerged painted, screaming and throwing orange and black colored ping pong balls.

2004- Advisors, Cookout

With only a few possible times left, most people expected a cookout break until the Lodge had a Vega social rescheduled for that night. As the rest of the campers were on the buffet line, the Lodge got in to the vans and drove off. The vans were stopped at the gate, though, where the advisors broke color war for them. The advisors and the Lodge then returned to the junior ball field, jumped out of the vans and broke color war together for the rest of camp.

2003- Tubby's Break!

2002- Stoney, Speeches

Tubby himself came to camp to introduce his newest flavor of ice cream, Camp Andro. He spoke at the end of flag lowering with a giant tub in hand. At the end of his speech, after thanking the camp for all the support and describing the ingredients, he opened the tub and emptied its contents of orange and black confetti over the campers right in front of him.

Stoney and a few other counselors started a color war chant during senior camp captain speeches, which the whole camp had been invited to. When they had managed to get all the campers to join in, the advisors came out from behind the junior bunks. That year, captains and lieutenants were voted by the teams.

2001- Jon Mann, Skip Around the Room

Throughout a particularly rowdy dinner, Jon was constantly ringing the bell and trying to quiet the campers down. Just when it looked like he was succeeding, a counselor started a "skip around the room" chant. Jon reluctantly agreed and skipped into the entrance to the kitchen, where the rest of the advisers were waiting. Together, they ran back in to the dining hall.

2000- Marcin, Assembly Break

At evening assembly, Marcin drove his cart filled with no name lost and found and pulled up behind Jon. As he was unloading laundry baskets filled with clothes, he pulled a color war flag out of one of them and then, the advisors, hiding in the back of the cart, jumped out.
